As a preschool owner/teacher I am always looking for fun ways to make activities fun and developmental. Beading is one of the best ways to develop fine-motor skills. I have always seen videos and recipes for coloring rice and pasta for sensory tables, but the recipe called for rubbing alcohol. Knowing little ones can put things in their mouth, I never used this method. Yet, I recently saw a recipe using white distilled vinegar. AHA! It worked like a charm. My YouTube video below.
- 1 box dry pasta (I used Penne pasta)
- Food color paste or drops
- 2-3 Tablespoons white distilled vinegar
- Plastic zip bag
- Cookie sheet
- Paper towel
