Watch the steps to making a stacked tiered cake
Things you need to make a wedding cake:
- Baked and cooled cakes – see Cake Recipes in Menu
- Frosting (enough for filling and frosting cake) Click Here for Jill’s Buttercream
- Filling or the frosting you are making
- Cake boards – the same size for tiers
- Cake board or plate to hold the entire cake
- Boba straws, wooden sticks or PVC piping to support the cakes
- Scissors
- Long 1/8 inch stick to go through the entire tiers to hold together (must do this if transporting cake)
- Spatula to smooth and ice the cakes
- Cake comb or you can use the spatula
- Decorating bag is piping
- Tips if piping (I used a #22 tip for this cake)
