Recipes for cupcakes, sugar cookies, cake pops, frosting and royal icing all in the SEARCH bar on the blog.
Patriotic Cupcakes: Make using sour candy belts and American flags. The kids baked chocolate fudge cupcakes and frosted with buttercream. They cut strips of the red candy belts and laid them on the cupcakes. So cute and festive.
Patriotic Oreo Cookie Pops: Super simple idea. The kids poked a cookie stick into a double-stuff Oreo. They put in the freezer for 20 minutes. Melted red candy melts. Dipped Oreos in candy melts and immediately sprinkled patriotic stars on the the Oreo. We bought the red candy melts and edible stars at our local craft supply store.
Dynamite Marshmallow Pops and Cupcakes: The kids poked a cookie stick in a large marshmallow. They put them in the freezer for 15 minutes. Using black licorice they cut small wick pieces and had ready for when they dipped marshmallow into the candy melts. They melted a bag of red candy melts and added 1 Tablespoon of vegetable oil to thin the candy melts. They dipped the frozen marshmallows in candy melts and then immediately added the licorice wick before it dried.
They did the same method with the Dynamite Cupcakes except they cut the sticks in half before inserting into the cupcakes.
Red, White and Blue cupcakes: Using a white cake mix they divided the mix into three bowls. The kids added red and blue in each bowl. They carefully poured 1/3 of each color into the cupcake liners before baking.
Stars Cupcakes: Using blue fondant and a mini star cookie cutter, the kids made the star cupcakes, along with the American flag as an accent.
Star Cookies: Using red and blue royal icing, along with making star sugar cookies. The kids make circles of red and blue icing and then used a toothpick from the center to outer edge of cookie to make the fireworks look to the cookies.
