Pumpkin Spice Sugar Cookies

Let’s bring some FALL flavor to our decorated sugar cookies.

Ingredients (printable recipe below)

  • 1 Cup Butter (2 sticks)
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg plus egg yolk
  • 1 Teaspoons pumpkin pie Extract
  • 2 Teaspoons Pumpkin Pie Spice (or cinnamon)
  • 2-3 drops of orange food color
  • 4 – 5 Cups All-Purpose Flour

How to Make Pumpkin Spice Sugar Cookies

  1. Start by beating the room temperature butter and sugar until it is light and fluffy with a stand mixer.
  2. Beat in the eggs until the dough is smooth.
  3. Mix in the spice and extract.
  4. Add drops of orange color.
  5. Stir in the flour, until a stiff dough.
  6. Refrigerate the dough for at least two hours.
  7. Preheat your oven to 350°
  8. Sprinkle flour on your work surface and use a rolling pinto roll out the dough about 1/4  inch thick.
  9. Use your  cookie cutters to create shapes.
  10. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes until golden on edges of cookies.
  11. Remove them from the oven and let them cool before decorating.

  • cookie sheets
  • rolling pins
  • parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 3 drops orange food color
