Ingredients (printable recipe below)
- 1 Cup Butter (2 sticks)
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Egg plus egg yolk
- 1 Teaspoons pumpkin pie Extract
- 2 Teaspoons Pumpkin Pie Spice (or cinnamon)
- 2-3 drops of orange food color
- 4 – 5 Cups All-Purpose Flour
How to Make Pumpkin Spice Sugar Cookies
- Start by beating the room temperature butter and sugar until it is light and fluffy with a stand mixer.
- Beat in the eggs until the dough is smooth.
- Mix in the spice and extract.
- Add drops of orange color.
- Stir in the flour, until a stiff dough.
- Refrigerate the dough for at least two hours.
- Preheat your oven to 350°
- Sprinkle flour on your work surface and use a rolling pinto roll out the dough about 1/4 inch thick.
- Use your cookie cutters to create shapes.
- Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes until golden on edges of cookies.
- Remove them from the oven and let them cool before decorating.
