Yummy Cinnamon Rolls

Share the Ideas & Inspiration

Do you love cinnamon rolls right out of the oven? It’s the best!

Want soft and fluffy gooey cinnamon rolls? This recipe is it!

My Italian grandma was a wonderful teacher in showing the art of using yeast to make delicious baked goods. The trick here is adding the yeast to warm milk and letting it sit for 10 minutes.

This recipe makes 12 cinnamon rolls. Want more? Double the recipe.

Printable recipe below!

Enjoy!

  • 1 Cup warm milk (heat in microwave for 1 minute)
  • 3 teaspoons rapid rise active yeast (or 1 packet)
  • 4 teaspoons sugar
  • 3 Cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 1 Tablespoon oil (any type of oil is fine)
  • 1 stick butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • Parchment paper or spread shortening or oil on pan

How to Make:

  • Pour warm milk into a small bowl.
  • Sprinkle yeast on the top of the milk.
  • Sprinkle 1 teaspoon sugar on top of yeast. Stir slowly and let rest for 10 minutes without stirring.
  • In another bowl, add 3 Cups flour. Add salt.
  • Pour yeast liquid into middle of the flour.
  • Add egg and oil.
  • Stir easily to making sure all flour is incorporated.
  • Cover bowl with a towel for 30 minutes.
  • Keep bowl in a warm place.
  • Roll dough into long roll. Spread out to allow to coat dough with butter and cinnamon sugar.
  • Spread softened butter over dough. Sprinkle mix of 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon together and pour over butter. Roll up dough. Cut in to pieces.
  • Place on sheet pan. Either put close together to keep sides soft or separate to give baked around the sides.
  • Bake at 350 degrees at 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Make a glaze:

Do you want to put a glaze over your rolls?

Mix 1 1/2 Cups powdered sugar with 4 Tablespoons milk and 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract. Add more milk is not runny enough. Pour over rolls when out of the oven for 10 minutes.

Is there an error in the recipe? “sprinkle yeast over the WATER. “? Should it say milk?
